2009 wasn't a good year for me. First off, I want to say that it doesn't matter how far you have walked around from God, HE WILL FIND YOU! There is no pit too deep for Him to reach down and pull you out of. Below are a few statuses that I posted from that year... and I wondered why I never had any victory in my life. Listen, YOU CANNOT HAVE A POSITIVE LIFE WITH A NEGATIVE MIND! Another point to ponder on, YOU CANNOT HAVE A SICK SOUL AND A HEALTHY BODY! You cannot have a mixture of good and bad or positive and negative in your life if you want God to be able to use you. If you will allow God to work in your life, HE WILL AMAZE YOU at what all He can do in your life AND what He can do THROUGH YOU! You see, if we have a sour attitude, we have no power to change other people. It's NEVER too late to begin again, NEVER! You CAN do all things through Christ who is your strength! You may not want to or feel like it, BUT YOU CAN IF YOU WANT TO! You absolutely cannot let your feelings control you. It's hard to manager your feelings, especially if you've allowed them to run your life for a long period of time. But always remember, it's never too late to make things right again. God can take things that have gone to ruins, rebuild them, and make them brand new!

The book of Psalms has got to be one of my favorite books in the Bible. Whenever I feel like I'm being attacked from all sides, to turn to Psalms. When I need encouragement, I turn to Psalms. When I want to start my day right, I turn to Psalms. When I want to end my day right, I turn to Psalms. There are many, MANY great verses in the book, but I decided to list several ones that I like. Read each one and absorb the richness of the truth. Psalm 103:12 says
"He has taken our sins from us as far as the east is from the west." Psalm 16:8 says "I always remember that the Lord is with me, HE IS HERE, close by my side, so NOTHING can defeat me." Psalm 4:8 says "When I go to bed, I sleep in peace, because, Lord, you keep me safe." Psalm 3:3 says "But you, Lord, protect me. You bring me honor; you give me hope." Psalm 3:5-6 says "I can lie down to rest and know that I will wake up, because the Lord covers and protects me. So I will not be afraid of my enemies, even if thousands of them surround me." Psalm 7:17 says "I praise the Lord because He is good. I praise the name of the Lord Most High." Psalm 18:1-2 says "I love you, Lord! You are my strength. The Lord is my Rock, my fortress, my place of safety. He is my God, the Rock I run to for protection. He is my shield; by His power I am saved. He is my hiding place high in the hills. Psalm 18:3 says "I called to the Lord for help, and He saved me from my enemies. He is worthy of my praise." Psalm 18:16-19 says "He reached down from above and grabbed me. He pulled me from the deep water. He saved me from my powerful enemies, who hated me. They were too strong for me, so He saved me. They attacked me in my time of trouble, but the Lord was there to support me. He was pleased with me, so He rescued me. He took me to a safe place. Something I shared on Facebook this past Sunday. This is so true:
"It's sad to think about how many people will finally give some time to God today and then completely shut Him out for the rest of the week. It's sad to think about how so many people will find some excuse to stay in bed and not go to church, but yet won't think twice about attending anything else. It's sad to think about how many people can't even dedicate 5 minutes to reading a devotional that feeds their spirits, but can spend an hour reading over statuses on Facebook. It's sad to think about how many people will turn their car around and drive back 5 miles to get their phone, but wouldn't do the same if they forgot their Bible. And then people wonder why they seem to have no victory? It's not fair for us to be part-time Christians and serve a God who works full-time for us. And listen, I used to be that person! I never devoted time to learning God's Word; therefore, I was EASILY deceived! If you don't know, you can't grow! I'm not saying you have to spend hours a day praying to God, but at least give Him SOMETHING! At least start your day thanking Him for what He's doing in your life. God is our only hope folks." |
