Hebrews 4:13 (ERV) says "Nothing in all the world can be hidden from God. He can clearly see all things. Everything is open before Him. And to Him we must explain the way we have lived."
You may be a master of hiding things from the world, but they'll never be invisible to the eyes of our Almighty God. Anything you try hiding from God only hinders your relationship with Him. It's not that He will completely disown you, but it'll prevent you from receiving the best that He has for you. It's so important that you understand this truth. You cannot hide anything from God. He sees and hears everything you do. At this point I'm sure you want to say "Gosh, I can't have no privacy with anything in my life!". But we need to remember that what God tells us not to do is for our own good! If what we were doing was acceptable to God, then why would we try being secretive about it and then lying when we get caught? In Genesis 3, we see the reaction of Adam and Eve when they disobeyed God. Verse 8 said that they hid from the Lord. When God asked where they were, Adam replied "I heard you in the garden. I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid." Sin makes us hide in shame and embarrassment. Here's something about sin that I want you to remember. I wrote this down in my journal. I suggest you do the same because there's so much truth to this: * Sin will always take you farther than you want to go. * Sin will always cost you more than you want to pay. * Sin will always keep you longer than you want to stay. Run to God, not away from Him! There's absolutely nothing you should be ashamed to go to God with. Always remember that you're not the only sinner that God has ever dealt with! Your sins will never outweigh His mercy, love, and forgiveness...never! God is saying to you what He said to Israel in Isaiah 1:18, "Come on now, let's discuss this! Though your sins are bright red, they will become as white as snow. Though they are dark red, they will become as white as wool."
